New Law on Political and Sale/Rent Signs in HOA Neighborhoods
The Arizona legislature has passed a new law (HB 2471) effective August 8, 2012, that provides as follows:
- HOA’s can prohibit the display of political signs 71 days before an election and 3 days after an election.
- The aggregate total signage of all signs on a homeowner’s property must not exceed 9 square feet.
- HOA’s can prohibit real estate signs that are not commercially produced.
- HOA’s cannot charge a fee for “for rent” or “for lease” signs.
